Drive-In Movie Night in Downtown Sioux City

Knoepfler Chevrolet hosted their 2nd Annual Drive-In Movie on Saturday, October 8. It turned out to be a perfect autumn day with highs in the low 70's and a fall chill in the air in the evening.

The screen started being set up around 12:30 PM. Knoepfler Chevrolet wants to thank Kevin O'Dell Electric for the use of their boom truck for this event, which allowed the screen to be put higher into the air.

Guests started claiming front row spots around 6:00 PM and the rest of the crowd rolled in soon after driving classic cars, Suburbans full of children and pick-ups with truck beds lined with pillows and blankets. When guests strolled to the front of the lot near the screen, they could purchase popcorn, candy and glass bottles of pop from Boy Scouts Troop #221.

The movie, Talladega Nights, begun around 7:30 PM. The movie could be heard by tuning in to 94.1 or by the loud speakers that were placed in front of the screen for outdoor viewers.

Cans of food were collected as admission to the movie with all donations going to the Food Bank of Siouxland. This unique event is something new to Sioux City, and Knoepfler Chevrolet looks forward to providing this community event for years to come.
