Halloween Trick or Treating Events in Sioux City

The time has come to get the costumes in order and prepare for a house full of candy! Sioux City has announced that trick-or-treating will take place at area homes who have on their porch light on October 31 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Southern Hills Mall is also offering trick-or-treating, known as Mall-O-Ween, at various retail stores from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on October 31st.

Here are a few other Halloween events for families to check out:

LaunchPAD - BOOYAH Bash!

October 22 from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • 12:00-1:30 p.m. Multiple activities such as a witch hat ring toss, spider web yarn craft, and building with candy pumpkins.
  • 2:00-2:30 p.m. Indoor parade/conga line
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Costume contest (ages 0-5 and 6-10)
  • 4:00 p.m. Announcement of contest winner
  • 4:15 p.m. Trick or Treating inside LaunchPAD

Halloween at the Roundhouse - Sioux City Railroad Museum
3400 Sioux River Rd., Sioux City
October 29 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
October 30 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Over 12,000 visitors came to the event last year! Come in costume or not, but come to have fun! The event features trick or treating, motor car rides, scavenger hunt, apple/pumpkin slingshots, screaming contest, coloring contest, haunted diner car, hobo ghosts, witches, goblins, ghouls and more!

Halloween Spooktacular - Long Lines Family Rec Center
401 Gordon Dr., Sioux City
October 29 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Why limit Halloween to one day? The Norm Waitt Sr YMCA and Sioux City Parks & Recreation is giving families another safe, fun and FREE way to celebrate Halloween! Scheduled festivities include bounce houses, carnival games, open climbing wall, face painting, tricks, treats and more!

October 30 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Betty Strong Encounter Center - 900 Larsen Park Rd., Sioux City

  • Join Eileen McCormick for a sugar cookie decorating family activity. Admission, materials and cookies will be free. The event will welcome participants to use a variety of materials to create personalized sugar cookies that celebrate Halloween, a holiday that can be traced to Irish immigrants. 

Trunk or Treat - Peace Reformed Church
4100 Outer Dr. N., Sioux City
October 30 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

  • Enjoy an afternoon of trunk or treating in the parking lot of Peace Reformed Church.  Cars will be decorated and handing out candy from their trunks! "Trunk or treat" to different vehicles dressed in your Halloween costumes. Games and refreshments will be provided! View easy and inexpensive Trunk or Treat ideas.
